DAN's “anniversary” nine millionth neutron pulse
The Russian DAN instrument's neutron generator, mounted on the Curiosity (NASA) rover, produced its “anniversary” nine millionth neutron pulse. Originally the generator had been designed to function on the Martian surface for one year, yet now it has already surpassed it sixfold and continues to operate, allowing to study the distribution of solid water within the Martian Gale Crater soil.
